Oconomowoc Food Pantry Serving residents of the Oconomowoc School District since 1981

The Oconomowoc Food Pantry is a non profit service organization run entirely by volunteers. Having over 80 dedicated volunteers who contribute their time to serve clients, stock and sort food, collect donated food from various drop off spots, oversee deliveries of food and bread and maintain the facility, they all make this a very amazing mission.

The food and hygiene items distributed to clients are either donated or purchased with donated money.

They serve at their facility at 5848 Brown Street (Hwy P) in Oconomowoc, located at the south end of the St. Vincent de Paul building.

The amount of food given to a client is based on the number of individuals who reside within a household. Clients receive bags of food that have been packed with a predetermined varied of nutritious items. In addition, clients will choose extra items and receive a milk voucher. During the summer and fall months they distribute fresh produce that has been donated by local gardeners.

When funds allow they may provide a certificate for a ham or turkey during Special Holidays.

The Oconomowoc Food Pantry receives all of its funding from their community. These donations of food and money come from area businesses, service clubs, schools, churches, scout troops, individuals and other sources.

The amazing community spirit of generosity leads one to believe that hunger prevention is an issue that is of high priority in the hearts and minds of the residents of the Oconomowoc area.

With all of the challenges that the year 2020 has brought to so many the Food Pantry is also working hard to adjust to the increased demand.

If you choose to help they welcome your help any way you choose to make a difference.

I also learned doing this story that the following people have been serving since 2005 Amy Hayes and Andrea Andrus as well as since 2003 Nancy Miller. The best servant is the best leader and we thank all of them.
