Five O’s Baseball and Fastpitch Softball
Our mission is to provide competitive baseball and fastpitch softball while maintaining an affordable experience for all kids in the Oconomowoc and surrounding areas. The Five O’s Club teaches our players respect for the game, discipline, teamwork, sportsmanship, honesty, and integrity, while preparing players for high school, college and beyond.
How it all Started
In 1997 the Oconomowoc Area Baseball Club (originally Oconomowoc Parents For Baseball) was established by Lee Fenzl, Pat Neary, Dan Nelson, Tom Rhoads, Dave Schlosser, Dave Smith and Mark Wille. The organization’s main purpose is to enhance the boys’ baseball and girls’ softball programs in the Oconomowoc Area School District. All parents of participating youth or any participating player 18 years or older are considered members of the organization. Regular meetings are held monthly during the year. Anyone is welcome to attend the meetings.
In keeping with the purpose of the organization, OABC has donated thousands of dollars and countless volunteer hours since 1997 upgrading area baseball facilities and sponsoring teams from age 8 through the Five O’s adult team. The Club has helped to improve baseball facilities at Roosevelt Park, Oconomowoc High School. In 2011, OABC signed a long-term lease with the Village of Summit to develop and use three new baseball fields at Summit Village Park. A fourth field was added there in 2013. In addition, the Club has provided donations to purchase equipment and uniforms for the high school teams and the summer teams, including the Senior and Junior Legion teams, and the Oconomowoc Five O’s adult team. This coming season, the Club will have a number of teams from ages 8 through 14, as well as the Legion teams, and the adult Five O’s.
